Santa’s little fairy

It may seem from these photos like the little fairy was putting Christmas presents for the children, but he was actually stealing them!

How Bibble loves Jesus

Bibble finishing off the last chocolate in his advent calendar:

This was good. You know Mama, I love Jesus.

Mama Paro who hasn’t had any chocolate in two months:

Me too, baby. I love Jesus too.

Bibble:

But you don’t eat chocolates!

Merry Christmas!

Can you love someone you have never met?

Someone loves my children so much, I often can’t help myself from weeping out of joy. This someone has never met my kittens and the kittens have never met her by they simply adore her.

So this someone magically knew that the kittens Christmas tree is a bit barren without presents and so she sent them a HUGE box filled with presents.

You can see all the presents here – I have to wrap them but thought should take a photo first

The little box contains Bibble’s Sweetboy and Mimi (!!), the other clogs are for Elina and Bibble, and the two flopping animal toys are also for the kids

The chocolate is from her and so are the books which are illustrated by her and are simply amazing.

I got a lovely night cream, incense and this white peacock. Some of you know the history behind that :)

The card from her

That someone you must have guessed is my sister, my best friend Aafke. And I just simply love her for making her fairy Godchildren’s Christmas so special. Thank you, Aafke! You are their Santa!

The Sid Series by Yvonne Perry – Book Review

Note: Bibble reads a passage from The Sid Series in this post. Read on and you will find an audio link.

Yvonne Perry describes ‘The Sid Series’ as a “collection of body-mind-spirit stories that focus on life skills such as overcoming fear, helping others, being true to one’s self, following inner guidance, caring for the body, having self-worth, appreciating diversity, dealing with change, accepting death, being environmentally conscious, and using spiritual gifts.”

I read the stories with my three children – Elina, Bibble and Tuktuk and am pleased to report that we all found the book to be extremely interesting and enlightening. Each story is an interesting episode in the lives of Sidney and Von-Von and each episode teaches a new lesson to the little readers; a lesson that can help them reflect on the needs of their own mind, body and spirit. The stories are easy to read and understand (my six year old could read it with ease and you can listen to him reading in the MP3 file below).

Following is a short review of The Sid Series written by Elina (age 11 years):

The Sid Series by Yvonne Perry – Book Review

I really enjoyed reading the Sid Series because each short story taught me an important lesson. The series are written by Yvonne Perry and they include the stories:

  • A ghost in my closet
  • A powerful potion
  • A stormy adventure
  • Always be honest
  • Ask your body
  • Making room for brother
  • My friend’s skin
  • Old things new
  • Puppy Love
  • Sid’s Fairy
  • The Pirate’s treasure
  • You can be!

The main character is Sidney and his grandma Von-Von. Sid visits his grandma Von-Von and grandpa Ran-Ran every weekend and he learns something new every visit.

These stories help you go through tough problems understand and believe in yourself and make you a better person. Every story introduces skills such as inner guidance, understanding people from other races, helping others, being environmentally conscious and overcoming fear.

You can also listen to a short excerpt from the story ‘Ask Your Body’ read out by Bibble (age 6 years).

Listen to an MP3 file.
